I'm always up for a story where the under dog gets the bone, David slays Goliath and that sort of thing. Anyway,recently a documentary was shot by a BBC film maker on a rubbish dump in Lagos.  He recorded the lives of people that scavenged there and  titled it 'Welcome to Lagos'. It drew the ire of lot of Nigerians (myself included!) I mean who comes to a country to  shoot a documentary on a rubbish dump, for public viewing to the outside world, and labels it "Welcome to Lagos?' Gross, if you ask me! Why wont the indigenes be angry? Expecially those that live in the city and know the whole of Lagos does not..CAN NOT look like that!

Anyway, many made their thoughts felt and we've let sleeping dogs lie. Well, one good thing that has come out of the story is that one of the dump dwellers Eric aka Vocal Slender (a budding musician) has been invited to the U.K to come and perform at a concert! Talk about a Cinderella story! So for those of you in London who can catch the show, do make sure you do so at the Coko Bar on the 31st of May and he will be doing so with ace comedian Basket Mouth, Wande Coal, JJC etc (hey! he's in very good company!) so go there and lend your support to the young man.  

Big ups to you Vocal! Hmm..stuff dreams are made of, right?

I mean it's enough stereotypes/ retards.... out there who think Africa is just a bunch of trees, and naked people fighting lions...lol! So why would someone want to do something that only feeds into ignorance...it's like people will do anything for a chance tho make money... He should really get a life! What happened with the guy is great, in the mist of all that nonsense something relevant and worth knowing about manifested... Great for him... Reply
