As early as 7pm, fans braved the freezing cold and slight drizzle to queue outside the Odeon at Greenwich to see the Stars live. The Paparazzi too were stationed, poised for action... all waiting. They were not disappointed. At about 9pm first to arrive in a white stretch limo, was Ghanaian actor, Majid Michel, lead actor in the film. The fans screamed!
He shook hands, stopped for pictures and interviews. Next to arrive was Emem Isong, the producer of the film. She was greeted with shouts as well. Next up was Susan Peters, who arrived in the company of Monalisa Chinda. They too shook hands, waved to the crowd and went to talk to the press. There was a lull on the carpet for several minutes and the crowd wondered.... is she coming? Finally at about 11pm, the bouncers began to clear the red carpet of the paparazzi and fans and Genevieve Nnaji walked in! The place went crazy! People began to scream and rush forward to catch a glimpse of her. Even those not originally attending the premiere, but passing by. They were not disappointed. She looked every inch 'The Star'.... pretty, petite, classy and elegant. The crowd surged forward in frenzied excitement. It was crazy! People were then ushered upstairs to the screening rooms to watch the movie. It was a full house and as is the norm these days with most Emem Isong's productions, there was not enough sitting space! Two other screening rooms had to be arranged to accommodate the remaining people. The room darkened and the film started and experienced a few technical hitches but that was soon corrected. The film contunued and the audience thoroughly enjoyed the show. 'Bursting Out' comes out soon on dvd! Go get your copies now! In the meantime, enjoy some first pix from the premiere! More to come later.
