bobtv4Yes o! We are live at this year's BOBTV taking place at the Ladi Kwali Conference Hall  Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Abuja.  BOBTV stands for the Best of the Best Television & Programme market and is a forum for networking, attending seminars and workshops on various aspects of the film making process in Nigeria,

 

pitching for funding for films, buying and selling soaps, programmes documentaries etc. This is  the 7th edition of the event and it promises to be even bigger and better than previous editions judging from the goodies lined up by the organisers of the event, the indefatigable Amaka Igwe and her talented team.

-N250 million naira is being made available by three multi-media organisations for producers to pitch for  films, television soap operas and series, television magazine programmes, documentaries and other audio-visual content, both in English and local languages.

-Awards will be given to some deserving, hardworking practitioners in  film and television  they are Steve Ojo Managing Director of Galaxy Television, Zeb Ejiro, Prof. Abdallah Uba Adamu renowned film critic, Opa Williams Producer and initiator of Night of 1000 laughs that has spurned the careers of many of our comedians today and last but certainly not the least and the only woman to the honored in the bunch, Emem Isong.  She is being honoured for her contribution in the area of producing indegenous films in her native Ibibio language, namely Uyai and Edikan. She is also being honoured for her recent 'entrepreneurial spirit that seeks to originate works and distribute them'... thus evolving one of the few ‘Script to Store’ organisations in Nollywood today.

Whatelse? Oh, Monalisa will be presenting a paper on what it takes to prepare for a role as an actress at one of the Masterclasses... hmmm..that should be great fun!  Monalisa....actress turned newspaper columnist and now lecturer! I wouldnt miss that Masterclass for the world! (heh heh!)     Dont worry guys! will give you a blow by blow account of how it all went... lots of interviews, photos etc

The event starts on  Tuesday, March 16 and ends Thursday, 18th March. Watch this space!

Was she confident in her
presentation....?
